5 minute poem

Part two of this weeks writing group was a poem for which we all gave one word to be included in whatever we wrote:

Those words were: thorough, joy, surprise, rainbow, poison, sex, coffee, book.

Here’s what I came up with:

The joy of a rainbow.
The surprise in a book.
The brandy laced coffee.
The thorough exhaustion of good sex.

The wind on a calm day.
The poison of a false friend.
The mist on a window.
The breath of a lover.

The taste of home.
The delight of nonsense.
The pain of goodbyes.
The thrill of a lie.

The truth of  a thought.
The innocence of suggestion.
The spirit of dance.
The height of passion.

The Satisfaction of a life well lived.
